PICTURE AND VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS FOR NHS CONSIGNMENTS
Video Standards: We request that you have your animal fitted to National Heifer Sale standards, clean and clipped. Please film in a clean, dry, well-lit area. We recommend filming your consignment NOT on the halter as many heifers look better walking naturally.
Video Quality: A video camera is recommended for filming your heifer, although smart phone videos have proven to be okay in quality. Please remember to hold your smart phone sideways when filming. Please try to record some of each side of the heifer as she is walking, and depending on her stage of development, a rear udder focus would be advantageous. Please film more than enough footage, and do not worry about the sound or editing. That will be handled in the office. A still photo of your consignment, a candid while doing the video or a picture taken by a professional photographer, will also work very well.
RAW VIDEO IS REQUIRED. Please do not send already produced video. Provide the raw video footage so that all the consignments can have the same format of video presented. NO “YOU TUBE” or similar links will be accepted.
Please have your video and/or still pictures to Hannah Meller or your area representative by June 11, 2021 (or earlier). This allows time for editing and re-filming if needed. Please call Hannah with any questions or for video advice at 614-322-4473. Most emails cannot handle videos due to the file size. You can send your videos to Hannah by sharing a Google Drive folder or through Dropbox (Google Drive is preferred).
