6 Registration Codes

Registration Codes

Following the Birth Date box are four boxes of Registration Codes. These boxes are set to default to the codes of Female, Artificial Insemination, Not Twin and Horned because the vast majority of animals registered match one or all of these codes.

If any of these codes needs to be changed for any animal you register, use the cursor to select the one of the other available options for each of these codes.

Note  In order for a Jersey to be registered as polled, one of its parents must have been registered as polled.

Then use the Tab key to move the cursor to the Tattoo boxes and enter the tattoo(s) of the animal as they appear on the animal’s right and/or left ears.

Note  All animals must be tattooed before the application for registration can be submitted.

Note  A valid tattoo is one which includes at least one number and one letter. The letters I, O, Q and V cannot be the only letters in a tattoo.

In the box under Sire, enter the AJCA registration number or NAAB code of the sire of the animal. The registration number can be entered without any leading zeros.

In this example, the sire is Molly Brook Glnwood Freedom-ET. His registration number can be entered as 662338 instead of 000662338. NAAB codes can also be entered without leading zeros. So, Freedom can be entered as 7JE424 instead of 007JE00424. In addition, Canadian sires can be entered without their country code of CAN.

Note  Do not enter both a registration number and a stud code. If both numbers are entered, the registration will not be processed.

If you have only the NAAB short name, the website at www.naab-css.org/db/maindb.html can be used to help locate the full registration name, registration number and NAAB stud code for A.I. bulls.

For the dam's information, the Breed code is set to Jersey. If a J1 animal is being recorded in the Jersey Expansion program, select the appropriate breed of the dam from the choices listed in the drop down box.

The Country code is set to United States. If the dam's registration number was issued from another country's breed association, select the appropriate country from the choices given in the drop down box.

Finally, enter the dam's registration number in the ID box, and the leading zeros do not need to be entered.
